Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

So as I said in a few posts before this, I have been looking for a new drugstore foundation for a few months now. My loyal L'Oreal True Match just isn't cutting it anymore, and for some reason I'm just not happy with it. It took multiple trips to the drugstore to pick out which foundation I was going to try, mostly because I was terrified of the color selection I was given. A lot of the colors were too pink, and since I am a golden-y olive skin tone it's a little harder to find a good match. I ended up going with Revlon's Nearly Naked because people on youtube had said they really liked it, and that was the closest I could get to my skin!

Right when I opened it I knew the color was a little too light, but that doesn't matter since I'm getting lighter anyway (goodbye beautiful sumer glow!). I wasn't sure if I should apply it using my foundation brush, finger, or beauty blender, but i ended up using my brush. I noticed when I put it on my skin it had a certain smell, almost like sunscreen, but that didn't bother me.

Okay let's back up a little bit. One thing I would change would be the packaging. It's a little difficult to get the product out on the bottle, so you have to be careful when you pour it out. I just poured a little amount onto the back of my hand. A little spilled down the side of the bottle and I had to clean it up which was a tad annoying but what can you do! The formula is more on the liquidy watery side, but still has some thickness to it.

Back to applying the foundation, I noticed right away that it covered my redness very well. I almost didn't need another coat. It left a nice dewy skin like finish which I really like. I think this foundation is light to medium coverage and you can definitely build it up. If you have oily skin or an oily t-zone, go for the formula made for that skin type because this formula that I have is made for dry to normal skin. Although I do have an oily t-zone, it didn't make me shiny or have to blot, so that's a major plus!

Overall I'm really happy with it. Hopefully soon the color won't be too far off and I can enjoy this foundation! :)

Have you tried the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation?

The Moodboard Tag

This mood board is kind of all over the place, but I've been obsessing over black and white...and lately I've been really loving my body and myself, which i guess is a good thing haha! I've just enjoyed looking at myself in my mirror and admiring the body I was blessed with. Sounds a little cheesy but after reading a lot about people who don't have body parts or get sick and can't do something, it really makes me love what I have. This past week I've had so much energy and I've loved sweating and exercising, because it just releases stress and makes me feel amazing. So that's what I wanted to show in this board. Odd I know but that's just me haha! ;)

Thanks for tagging me Victoria! I tag Katie, Ashley, and Rachel :)

Black Cherry

My dad told me he was taking me and my brother out to meet our mom for sushi and he told me i had 30 minutes to get ready. so after having on no makeup and my hair up in a bun all day i decided to get all nice and fancy for the night out. i don't know why, i was just feeling like a dark look. so thats what i did! ;) I had my lipstick already in mind, so with that i just did a bit of a cat eye with my liner, and added extra bronzer and highlighter for that autumn face. I threw my hair up in a high ponytail because it was the day after i washed it and i didn't even want to try and mess with it.

I brought my camera thinking I was going to document the night but that didn't end up happening. I tried to snap a few photos of our food but everyone ate so quickly i didn't get any. i was really bummed but what can you do. My meal was delicious though, it was a miso soup with mushrooms, green beans, red peppers, onion, and tofu. mmmmmm.

Then later after dinner i drove home with my mom and it started raining when we got home, so that only means we HAD to bake some cookies and watch a movie in the kitchen haha :) I always love these kinds of nights with my family.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and a great start to the week! Smile :)

Sin-A-Mon

Ohhh yes. The color of the year haha! Maybelline's "Sin-A-Mon" is THE Kylie Jenner lip everyone is freaking out about, and yes I am too. I absolutely love this color and it's totally giving me 90's vibes. For this look I went with the mauve lip, and i wanted my eyes to kind of match it too. I used my Naked 2 palette, putting "tease" all over the lid and "busted" in the crease. I really love these purply mauve colors because they just create that sultry "I'm not trying that hard but still look good" look haha! Then I used the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara and badaboom! ;)

I can't wait to wear this look into the Fall season. There are so many ways to change this look too, you could always add more bronzer, or blush, or even do some thick liner. The possibilities are ennnnndless! ;)
