Those Brows Though

On Saturday I drove down to an outdoor shopping center where there is my local Sephora...yeah I think you know where this is going. I picked up my first ever Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ebony because my brows are basically almost black. I was trying it out in the store and absolutely loved it. Ever since getting my eyebrows waxed, they have looked so thin and sparse, which isn't normal for me as I usually have really thick brows. So I mean basically I talked myself into buying it! I used it for the first time yesterday and I'm not gonna lie I kept looking in the mirror and just staring at my face. Filling in my brows, which is something I don't usually do, totally changes the look of my face and I can't believe I hadn't started doing this earlier on. Especially since I watch so many beauty vloggers on youtube!! What is wrong with me? In the picture above, I had barely put any of it on because I was afraid I would look like a crazy mad man haha, so that's why they still look a little thin. Later though I added more with the confidence I gained and LOVED it lol ;)

The rest of the weekend is kind of a blur to me. It went bye so fast, I feel like I didn't have time to do anything. I went job hunting and looked at a couple of stores that I thought I wanted to work in, like Urban Outfitters and Forever 21, but the people that worked there seemed really nasty and not very nice, and I wouldn't want to hate where I work or feel put down. I've been thinking about it a lot and I think it would be so fun to work in a restaurant, especially since I love food and being around a lot of people. What do you think? Do any of you work in a restaurant and can give me any advice? Haha :)

I hope everyone has a good week, oh and I have no school today or tomorrow...But since I've been sick I haven't been in school for three weeks soooo.....I guess it doesnt really matter anymore 0_0

How I Style: Stripes

I. love. stripes. If you opened my closet you would see a massive spot just filled with stripes. I don't know when I started to like this pattern, but I know I haven't always been fond of it. I used to be obsessed with polka-dots, which now I can't even understand because I really don't find them attractive on me anymore....anyway! I particularly love stripes because they are so versatile. You can wear them with pretty much anything, any color, any kind of jewelry, and that makes me a very happy girl haha!

Now I just realized most of the pictures I picked for style inspiration are black and white, which is totally me. I didn't mean to do that on purpose but that explains my style! Most of the time, I wear stripes with denim, light or dark wash. I especially love to wear denim cutoffs, then tucking in a bit of a striped shirt with some simple jewelry. Love! I also really love the look of making stripes casual, just by throwing a cardigan over a top or putting on some cute white sneakers. You can create so many different looks with just one shirt.

I want to make this a regular feature on the blog a "How I style" then a certain piece of clothing or accessory :) Give me some requests down below!

um...when did it become the first day of november?! time is flying bye wayyy too fast if you ask me.

Fall Inspiration

As Fall continues on I continue to obsess over dark colors. I guess it's just a habit, but I'm wearing it everywhere. On my nails, eyes, lips, and especially clothes. What I'm really looking for is a nice trench coat, not that I need one for the kind of weather I live in haha!

Just some quick inspiration for everyone :)

I've been hit

I thought I was in the clear, but nope. I got sick. After my mom has been sick for over two weeks, then a couple days ago my brother got sick, now guess who's turn it is! ;) I've been helping them out since they don't have the energy to do much, so I'm surprised I didn't get sick quicker. I guess that's just my healthy immune system haha! So I'm staying home from school today, thank god. I think I need to explain my feelings towards this new school in another post though...more on that soon. Anyway I plan on curling up with a blanket, my computer, and writing some posts. and maybe scrolling through Pinterest for hours :)

What do you guys have planned for the week? Today since I'm staying home, I want to fix my resumé and go get some job applications (!!!) and I also want to start working on my inspiration board :) which will also be another post!

I hope everyone has a beautiful day :)

Setting Goals

I came across a blog earlier and the post I was reading was about setting weekly goals. Of course I've heard of this but it's the part of me that never actually did it. After reading the post, I sat staring at my computer like "why haven't I done this yet?" I had an ah-ha moment that when you write down goals for yourself to accomplish, you'll be more motivated and willing to check it off the list and have that satisfaction of completing something for yourself.

So I think I'm going to start making this a weekly thing. I want to write and share my goals with you, and try my best to accomplish what I can during the week. And they don't have to be outrageously scary goals either, it can be something as simple as cleaning your room or going through clothes to get rid of. BUT it is important to make bigger goals too, because I do like the ones that make me feel a little bit scared :) Like, finally having the guts to apply for the job I want, or take a leap with my blog, dye my hair-haha!

Hope this gave you a bit of inspiration on this fine day! :) Feel free to leave any of your goals down in the comments, I love hearing from you xx

It's the Weekend!

YES YES YES. This week actually went bye pretty fast for me because a lot was going on, but I'm still so so thrilled its finally the weekend. There were some good moments and some not so good moments haha but thats in the past and we can look back on the good!

// I drove myself to school every day this week...what. \\

// I got my report card- all A's! \\

// I ate the best crispy apples like every day, oh I love autumn haha! \\

// Had a very nice heart-to-heart conversation with my mom, those are always comforting \\

// Witnessed the most magical hot pink sunset \\

// Talked to some amazingly nice new bloggers! \\

// I have been wearing this berry lipstick like everyday, and I'm not exaggerating. Definitely a fall staple! \\

I hope everyone had a great week. What's something good that happened to you? :)

Decorating Pumpkins

If you're like me carving a pumpkin isn't the easiest thing in the world. Once I get the hang of it and I can get around using a tiny sharp knife, I don't mind cutting into my design. But ever since I discovered "decorating" pumpkins I kind of became obsessed! It's a lot easier to do and personally I think the pumpkins turn out a heck of a lot prettier.

My favorites are adding studs and/or jewels. They just stand out from the others and they look a lot more personalized too. Last year I also painted designs and stripes onto my pumpkins (of all sizes) and I couldn't stop looking at them to be honest. They are so cute! And I love the little ones that can fit into the size of your hand, I mean come on how can you not think that isn't adorable. I love coordinating them together because then you can easily arrange them on a table or in a jar and it makes your setting very warm and welcoming.

And the best part is, you dont have to remove the guts and worry about a rotting pumpkin!! ;) These beautiful pumpkin setups with an autumn candle burning and fireplace flickering make me feel soooooo cozy and I love it. Have any of you tried decorating pumpkins like this? Let me know!!

Mother Daughter Day

Since I'm on my fall break (yeeeeee) my mom and I decided to travel up north in the spur of the moment. We just thought, why the heck not? Where I live, if you travel up north, it's like a completely different state. There are gorgeous bright red rocks, thousands and thousands of acres of trees and greenery, and beautiful little shopping centers where you could spend hours just walking around, which is what we did!

We ended up stopping for lunch at a beautiful little organic raw vegan cafe called The ChocolaTree, which is my kinda food haha! ;) They grow their own food right in the garden outside, which was covered with little lights and even a serene waterfall, ah it was so relaxing. The meal was delicious, we even ended up taking some home because they gave us so much. I ordered an amazing salad galled "the green goddess" with marinated kale, sprouts, seeds, humus, avocado, and cucumber. My mom ordered the Kale Quinoa, which was shredded kale, cabbage, carrots, quinoa, dressing, and I dont even know what else but it was delicious haha!

The weather was sooooo nice outside. It was sunny, but at the same time breezy and kinda cloudy so it was perfect for walking around. We went into some little shops and picked out things we wish we would buy at that moment (kinda fun but kinda depressing!!) Where we walked around was absolutely breathtaking, it felt like we were in Italy or somewhere old like that in Europe. The buildings are covered with intricate carvings, old spanish tiles, huge carved wood doors and gigantic pillars. It got too dark to get pictures but I really wish I was able to. Even the fountains that are placed all over the area are magnificent to stare at.

Anyway, I had such a great time with my mom. I love when I get to have days like that with her, where my dad or brothers don't get in the way haha ;) She's my best friend and when we are able to be alone it's a lot easier to talk about stuff with her, ya know what I mean?

Monday Mantra

I came across this quote on Pinterest and it couldn't be more on point. We only have so many days in our lifetime. If we experience a crappy day, which we all will more than enough times, then we experience a crappy day. But the thing is, when the day is over, it's over. And it's time to start over when the sun comes up the next day. No more living in the past, and no living in the future either. Life is all about enjoying the moment you are in RIGHT NOW. Right now. You have every right to start the day feeling happy, grateful,  and overjoyed. There is no reason to ruin a perfectly bright day with emotions and feelings from the day before. Our feelings are like the ocean. As humans, we are going to feel waves of excitement, waves of sadness, anger, whatever emotion. We need to accept how we feel and let those feelings pass. So no matter what, everyday should be a new day. Start now! Even as I'm typing this, it's giving me motivation to let go of feelings I've stacked up from a couple days and release them and start over. Believe me, it feels SO good to let everything go and be in the moment.

Just take a really deep breath in, think about everything that's bothering you or weighing you down, and exhale it alllllll out. Then smile, blast some of your favorite music, and live in the moment and BE HAPPY :) Happy Monday!

I'm Thankful for...

I have to be honest, I've been going through a rough patch with coming up with blog ideas. Ever since school started, it has been a bit hard to manage this blog, school work, and other activities I have going on. It makes me appreciate all of the bloggers out there who work their butts off to create such amazing content. It blows my mind how they are able to do so much at a time and still put their all into their blogs. Some days I'll have a bunch of ideas I'll be able to do something with, and other days I'm staring aimlessly at my computer screen just waiting for something to spark.

After sitting on my bed for a little while I grabbed an old journal of mine where I started to collect my future goals and blog/youtube ideas, and after reading through a couple of pages I just smiled and felt SO much better. Looking through those pages made me realize that I really do have a passion for this, I just needed some reminding. I think like a lot of other people, life gets in the way and sometimes when we start to compare ourselves to others we just want to stop everything and curl up in a ball in our beds haha!

Anyway, it just got me thinking I am SO thankful for where I am today. Mentally, physically. I am so thankful for the school I'm attending, the yoga classes I'm taking (which by the way are completely life changing), the pure healthy food I eat, my soft cozy bed and sheets. Im thankful for my outstanding parents who always go out of their way to help me with whatever I need...I could go on and on. I'm thankful for the beautiful weather I walk in after dinner, the amazing hot pink and purple sunset I get to witness every night. I'm thankful for my amazing camera I was able to purchase for my birthday, all of my wonderful makeup i'm addicted to! ;) Hahaha

So overall I think I just needed a little reminder of why I started this blog in the first place. I love to write, I have a passion for a bunch of different things, and I like to speak about my thoughts towards them. I love getting to know people online, and I love social media and branding too. When I first discovered 'blogging' and 'graphic design' a couple years ago, I was SO fascinated, and now years later I still am and I hope to have a job that involves all of the details I just listed :)

I'm so thankful for YOU reading this! :)

Hello October

It's heeeeere :) Last night my mom and I went to the grocery store. And let me tell you it looked like Fall hit that place like a tornado. Pumpkin EVERYTHING. As a matter of fact there were like 20 different types of pumpkins to chose from. Also, some called 'fantasy pumpkins' and they are out of this world beautiful. Huge and white, with swirly trunks. Some were creme, others orange and white striped or spotted.

I picked up some cans of pumpkin, and I cannot WAIT to start busting out my fall recipes. This morning when I drove to school, it was actually breezy and cool outside. No gust of hot summer air. Ah, fall you bring me lots of joy. Here's to the hundreds of cups of tea and never ending burning candles ;)

Happy 1st of October!

The Moodboard Tag

This mood board is kind of all over the place, but I've been obsessing over black and white...and lately I've been really loving my body and myself, which i guess is a good thing haha! I've just enjoyed looking at myself in my mirror and admiring the body I was blessed with. Sounds a little cheesy but after reading a lot about people who don't have body parts or get sick and can't do something, it really makes me love what I have. This past week I've had so much energy and I've loved sweating and exercising, because it just releases stress and makes me feel amazing. So that's what I wanted to show in this board. Odd I know but that's just me haha! ;)

Thanks for tagging me Victoria! I tag Katie, Ashley, and Rachel :)

Autumn Nail Choices

Yeeeeees. Honestly I have never been more excited for Autumn. Even though Summer is one of my favorite seasons, I just can't help but think of cozy sweaters, warm fuzzy socks and blankets and spending cold nights in watching movies with hot chocolate haha :) It's still summer weather where I live, and probably will be for another two months but hey I can imagine I live somewhere else ;)

Every year I come back to these same colors for my nails. I especially like the dark blues and reds personally, but I know other colors like nude and olive are trending this year too, which I want to try out. Essie's 'after school boy blazer' is always a color that I get compliments on when I wear it, so that shade is a popular one. The red color up there is just a polish I picked up from Forever 21 like a year ago, and I have to say for $1.50 the quality is amazing. The color stays on for longer than 5 days and it doesn't chip or anything, so bonus points for them!

The other two colors are Nails Inc. 'Baker Street' and Essie's 'mamba'. Both of these colors look fabulous with tanned or pale skin. Speaking of pale skin, that's something I'll be rocking this season haha! Sadly I've lost my summer glow but for the colder months I absolutely LOVE the way pale skin looks with the dark colors of makeup and clothes. Ugh I can't take it.

What kind of nail polish will you be wearing during the Fall season?

Black Cherry

My dad told me he was taking me and my brother out to meet our mom for sushi and he told me i had 30 minutes to get ready. so after having on no makeup and my hair up in a bun all day i decided to get all nice and fancy for the night out. i don't know why, i was just feeling like a dark look. so thats what i did! ;) I had my lipstick already in mind, so with that i just did a bit of a cat eye with my liner, and added extra bronzer and highlighter for that autumn face. I threw my hair up in a high ponytail because it was the day after i washed it and i didn't even want to try and mess with it.

I brought my camera thinking I was going to document the night but that didn't end up happening. I tried to snap a few photos of our food but everyone ate so quickly i didn't get any. i was really bummed but what can you do. My meal was delicious though, it was a miso soup with mushrooms, green beans, red peppers, onion, and tofu. mmmmmm.

Then later after dinner i drove home with my mom and it started raining when we got home, so that only means we HAD to bake some cookies and watch a movie in the kitchen haha :) I always love these kinds of nights with my family.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and a great start to the week! Smile :)

Weekly Recap♡

Hi guys! Man i feel like i have been away from my blog for so long. With school starting and everything my life has been SO busy but I prayed for that to happen so I'm not complaining one bit :)

//No school on monday and a short day on wednesday, amazingness!!

//The most delicious salad for lunch everyday: Chopped apples, raisins, pepitas (seeds), walnuts/almonds, lettuce and walnut oil. It's HEAVEN

//Every night I have been going for the most calming and beautiful walks around my neighborhood. Instead of retreating back to my computer after dinner, this has been helping me to clear my mind and get me into nature and I love every bit of it.

//This isn't anything new for me, but my green smoothie with peanut butter, banana, and cacao has been extra chocolate-y and delicious, maybe it's because I'm happier and noticing the little things, but it's definitely been hitting the spot ;)

//I DROVE MYSELF TO SCHOOL. With NO adult in the car. Ahhhh can you believe it?! I can't that's for sure. I honestly can't wrap my head around the fact that I am now legally allowed to do that. I remember when I was like 10 years old thinking this day was so far away, and now it's here. Crazy. (Ps everything went fine and I'm still alive lol)

//The sunsets. My gosh they have been amazing. Bright magenta pink and neon orange, and then as the sun sets even further the sky turns a deep royal purple and cobalt blue. So grateful I am able to see them.

//Fall is almost here!! Well, it actually won't show up where I live for about another month or two which really stinks, but in my mind I'm gonna pretend I live somewhere where the leaves change and the weather gets all nice and crisp...Ahh wearing the cozy oversized sweater and ankle booties, smelling of pumpkin spice and never taking the deep cherry lipstick off :)

What made you happy this week?

August Favorites

So after not doing a July Favorites I was really anxious to do this post haha. Honestly time is flying bye so fast I feel like im forgetting a couple of things, so hopefully I’m not! August was a whirlwind for me. I started my new school and went through a lot of different emotions and feelings within a couple of weeks, which is always draining for me. Over the last few days though I realized that I am SO lucky to have parents like I do, and the fact that they have been sticking with me through everything I’ve gone through makes me feel so loved and special. I’m going to admit, sometimes I do act like a brat or I scare myself too easily over silly situations, but I can say I am genuinely happy with my life right now. I know I said in a post I was second guessing myself on going to this new school, but now I think I know that I made the right decision. And I can’t just expect to like everything right away, I mean I’ve barely been in school for a month. So I’m really glad that I’m in a better place mentally, because when I’m in a better place everyyything always goes better haha!

Anyway onto my favorites ;)

Aztec Leggings// I’ve literally worn these for three days in a row no joke. They can go with so many different shirts and jewelry, it makes it so easy to create numerous outfits. And they’re sooo soft! I purchased these at Forever 21 :)

Maybelline “Sin-A-Mon”//Oh boy you guys are probably sick of hearing about this from me haha! But I’ve been wearing this gorgeous mauve color on my lips everyday, even as I’m writing this right now. It doesn’t budge and its that perfect 90’s color everyone is obsessed with.

Gold Statement Necklace// Usually I don’t wear short statement necklaces like this, but after wearing it once I fell in love with it. When I put it on it instantly makes my outfit look like I tried harder than I did, so sneaky ;) I also purchased this at Forever 21

L’Oreal Infallable Super Slim Liner// Recently I’ve been wanting to wear really dark eye makeup, not because I’m sad or anything, but I’ve been loving the way it looks on bloggers and on other people. I’ve seen so many different pictures on pinterest too, you know the metallic eye with the dark crease and smoky outer corner? Ugh I love it! I’ve been adding a wing too, which I might add I’m getting quite good at from all the practice haha. This eyeliner is perfect to use. It’s so easy to just draw the wing and fill it in!

Leave a comment telling me some of your favorites; I would love to try new products of course haha! ;)

Autumn Beauty Inspiration

Obsessing over the deep cherry/plum and soft nude/mauve lip

So for me, Autumn is all about bringing the beautiful dark, deep colored lips back into the game! It's only been since last year that I am confident enough to sport these colors, and boy am I glad I made the decision to stop caring about what people might think haha! I love to wear these colors because it screams elegance, confidence, power, beauty, and a lot more. I picked out three of my favorite drugstore cherry colors. I've had the Kate Moss color for over a year and every time I wear it someone asks me where I got it! All of these colors are affordable, pigmented, and they don't feather or streak around the lips, which is a big plus for me.

I can't WAIT to wear these colors in a few weeks! Okay I actually already wore the Kate Moss color to school ;)

Which are your favorite dark cherry lip colors?

Maddie

Beauty Bits

Today I quickly went to the drugstore and within minutes picked out these beeeeautiful products!! I have been wanting to purchase these lipstick colors for I don't even remember how long. The deep plum/cherry color is from Revlon and it's called '477 Black Cherry'. I saw this from Kailee Mckenzie, who is a you tuber I watch. I saw her wearing it like last winter and just now got it haha! The beautiful taupe-mauve-90's throwback lip everyone wants-color is from Maybelline and it's called '935 Sin-a-mon.' i ALSO picked this up on recommendation from Claudia Sulewski, or BeyondBeautyStar on youtube. I cannot wait to wear this color. It looks a little brown in the pictures, but trust me, this is the perfect dupe for that Kylie Jenner lip everyone has been wanting.

I also got my hands on the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara, which I cant wait to try out (watch for a review coming soon!). And I have to add, the packaging is absolutely adorable. Even if I end up not liking the product, I'm still onna keep it for looks! A+ on packaging L'Oreal ;)

So you know sometimes you just have to make that emergency drugstore stop and buy yourself a few things. Hey, I felt better after I made the purchase and thats all that matters. And now I have some new lip colors to try out for fall and winter. You have NO idea how that excites me. Especially since I've become confident enough to wear dark bold colors like plum, cherry, and red :)

Have you picked up anything recently from the drugstore?
